13s TRIUMPH IN MEDWAY CUP FINAL

Under cloudy skies, and with wet weather forecast we managed to squeeze in the Medway 13s Cup Final at Rayner's Meadow on Friday night.

Meopham duly won the toss and elected to field. The home side set about their work with a fine knock from Bobby Peal at the top of the order – 32 retired not out off 26 balls. This was followed up by important contributions from Toby Flint 24 not out and Max Payne with 26, seeing the home team to the end of their innings – 131 for 4.

So chasing 132 to win - in reply, Meopham never really got under way, with Sophie Lemon taking two quick wickets at the top of the innings. From that point on, the opposition were always behind.

Two more wickets apiece from Toby Flint and McCauley Mates sealed the day – Meopham ending up 108 for 8 off their overs.

A great evening for our Under 13s – well done to all.
